Creamed Hot Chocolatta-Double Chocolate Delicious

Winter is in full force. We just had a pretty significant snow event here in D.C. and there is nothing like hot chocolate on a cold and snowy day.
Sitting on the couch, sipping away a cup of chocolate goodness watching the snow fall makes for a pretty memorable day.
I personally like my hot chocolate made with warm milk as it adds so much richness and not to mention, good for you too and a great way to throw some extra calcium into your diet too. Yes I’m fully justifying it here.
Hot Chocolate-New Version

Tradition move over and make room for this version that is made with two different types of chocolates and poured over a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yum, Yum!
The hot chocolate is made on the stove where white and semisweet chocolate meet up with half and half and milk to make a sinful cup of this classic drink. We can overlook the calories here, right?
This is much served like an affgato, minus the espresso. But hey, feel free to add some if you wish.
I know you will love it!
Super Simple to Make
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup White chocolate chips
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup Half and Half
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Whipped Cream
- Chocolate Sauce
- Splash of Vanilla
This makes about 2 1/2 cups of hot chocolate.
Lets Make a Cup
Take a saucepan and add your milk and half and half and bring it up to a steam, just before it starts to boil. Add your chocolates and mix and whisk at medium low heat till the chocolate is melted fully.
It will smell amazing at this point. Remove from the heat and add the splash of vanilla. Go ahead and give it your first taste. I warn you, will be ready to gulp it down right then and there!
Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cup or small glass.
These small glasses work great I like using a small coffee cup
Pour the hot chocolate mixture over the top and garnish with some whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Grab a straw My favorite way to serve this Up close and personal
It is absolutely out of this world. Its one of the best drinks I have had in a long time. Definitely worthy to be served at any coffee shop.
Tips and Options
You can also serve this without the ice cream for a great cup of hot chocolate. It’s smooth and creamy and totally to die for!
Try using a variety of ice cream flavors, I bet chocolate works awesome or even waffle cone!
