Spiced Whoopie Pies
Whoopie Pie-Fall Inspired
No secret how much I love whoopie pies. I’m always looking for new flavor combinations and the changing of the seasons is the best inspiration. This spiced version is perfect to snack on this fall. Its loaded with those great flavors you think of when fall rolls around, like allspice, cinnamon, and cloves.
The cake is super moist and delicious as it has just a bit of cake flour and so close to eating a cupcake. They bake up wonderfully too.
For the filling, I add just a touch of maple syrup and it makes for a great autumn explosion to your palate. You could also add maple flavoring or just leave the classic vanilla, as it’s great on its own and perfect for this spice version.
Caramel would work great here as well.
