Spring is here! Woo hoo! When I think of spring and summer, I get excited about strawberries and Strawberry desserts!
Strawberries, along with blueberries are two fruits I love creating into desserts. Orange and lemon are a close second. There is just something about a juicy strawberry that makes you glad summer is coming!
Where I live, we have access to many local farms and farmers markets. There is NOTHING like strawberries picked straight from the fields. Honestly, there is NO comparison how awesome they taste, and look!!!
Here, I put together some of my favorite homemade strawberry desserts and strawberry recipes in a collection that are clicks away for How-To’s and recipes, so you can enjoy these amazing berry ideas.
Come let me share some of my favorites with you.
Strawberry Shortcake with Cotton Candy and White Chocolate
I think this will always take me back to when I was a kid eating strawberry shortcake. I think it’s just a great combination of flavors and textures in your mouth that just make you so happy! Great addition of cotton candy on the top of these takes it over the top.
Whoopie pies are one of my recent obsessions lately. It all started with a trip to an Amish market in Maryland where I discovered amazing whoopie pies. Haven’t stopped eating them since. Check out the strawberry shortcake recipe.
Tower of Shortcake
Speaking of strawberry shortcakes, the mother of all shortcakes my family has ever enjoyed was at Carmines Restaurant in Washington D.C. Wow, this was absolutely amazing tower of shortcake crafted so creatively and oh so incredibly delicious!!!! Doesn’t it look amazing??? Check it out if you are ever in the DC area!
Fried pies were just a part of growing up, in ATL, we had The Varsity which had the most amazing fried pies. You know, I don’t even want to know what they fried those bad boys in but whatever it was, they were so darn good! Peach was my favorite. So, I took that memory and created this strawberry version with berries picked right down the street from where I live. Oh, my goodness, you must make these!!! Wonderful addition to any decadent strawberry dessert repertoire.
One of the easiest things to make and inexpensive is sorbet. You take simple syrup (sugar and water boiled) mix it with pureed fruit, and toss in a little citrus for freshness, and you have a great fresh and brightening dessert. The flavor is so amazing, you’ll have to give it a try, click here for recipe.
Strawberry cheesecake is by far one of the most popular strawberry desserts. Love cheesecake. I think traditional vanilla cheesecake with a strawberry glaze or compote on top is a total classic, isn’t it? I take that concept and flip it on its head just a bit. Incorporating the strawberry inside the cheesecake and using pyramid molds for great individual desserts. Such a fun dessert to make and eat too. See how to make it here. Oh, by the way, the cheesecake is no-bake!
Rounding out the strawberry desserts is a chocolate strawberry tart, made up chocolate mousse with fresh strawberries on top. Super simple to make and even more fun creating the decorative topping out of fresh strawberries!
Strawberry Desserts- Jam Creations
Jam makes a great filling for many strawberry creations. These are two of my favorite ways to use this.
Poptarts are something my husband has been eating since he was a kid. Strawberry poptarts were my favorite. However, not so much now as he is much older and striving to eat healthier. So occasionally, I’ll make his favorite treat to take him back. Have to admit, these strawberry ones are so good and so much better than the boxed version. They are a bit time consuming but totally worth the effort!
These fruity delights celebrate their cousin the cinnamon roll! Boy, do I love those and make them all the time. But these are becoming my new favorite because I love the flavor combination of strawberry and orange. These are so addicting and taste as good as they look!! Make the awesome and delicious strawberry recipe here.
Hope you enjoy baking your favorite strawberry desserts with fresh strawberries this spring and summer. Let me know if you try any of these recipes. Love to hear your comments!!!!
